I understand the desire to find the most affordable divorce process. I’ve been there. However, it’s really about much, much more than that. It’s about feeling like you’re in a team, in a partnership with your lawyer.
I never recommend collaborative divorce because it’s much more affordable than litigation, although in my experience it always is. Instead, I always emphasize how much better it is for the family.
The process is more economical because you hire the experts as you need them, instead of contracting duplicates of multiple advisors. One financial expert will gather data on your family’s assets, instead of two. It’s almost always a more efficient, effective, and affordable divorce process. Most importantly, your family law attorney will do their best to preserve your integrity and self-worth.
In this video I explain a little bit about How much a divorce costs, when doing collaborative divorce, and WHY it’s most often less expensive.
